I've called semi-hiatus at cfud already until the end of this week, but this is just...another reminder. especially for people I talk to more often.

this week is hell. I'm tired and exhausted and stressed out, and my mood changes at the drop of a hat. I'm going to be crabby and grouchy and altogether unpleasant, especially after rehearsals, and for that, I apologize.

I AM TOO LAZY TO DO DO CODING FOR THE "NANO WINNER" THING. THEREFORE:

50311 / 50000 words. 101% done!

I could have done better, I know; there were some times where I was just being lazy--and there were times where I was just completely uninspired, or tired, or any number of things. But I made it, and that also counts for a SUCCESS for week twenty-one of my "write at least 1000 words a week for a year" self-challenge. NOT TOO BAD.

Stats-wise, I entirely finished fourteen different pieces this month. The most impressive part about this is that a big chunk of them were actually either completely original ficiton, or close enough to completely original to skirt that line. Some of them I will be posting under the NaNo filter I made--I'm sorry I didn't post a whole lot during this past month, BUT I FIGURE PEOPLE WOULD UNDERSTAND. :'D

AND HERE IS THE FIRST ONE! This is my piece for imaginarybeasts, whose theme for Book #18 was winter.

I wrote The Disappearence of Granny Winter and managed to submit my story early enough to get a gorgeous illustration by adadochka, kyaa kyaa. *_* I hope you'll read and enjoy it! \o/

Ahhhh, I feel pretty good. |D I'm proud of me for making it, and for finishing stuff, and for writing as much original fiction as I did. :3 CONGRATS TO EVERYONE ELSE WHO MADE IT, and congrats to everyone who tried and had fun. YAY NANO 09 \m/

Ladies and gents, I am proud to announce that today I have gained another year! That's correct: I am now twenty-three :Db (BTW, thanks so much for the virtual gift, rhap_chan ^___^)

Some things:

1) NaNo is now almost over, and I never got much farther than I did that first week. Oh, well! I'll probably be typing up and sharing the more story-like bits over on DW (first one is already up), and I do plan to continue with the novel, but. No longer NaNo. Not sure if that's a load off my mind or not :|a

Well, there's always next year.

2) For my birthday, my parents got me a new rat cage ♥♥♥ It has replaced my old home-made one that was difficult to clean, and should be at least a little easier to maintain. It also holds more rats than my last one, which leads into my next number...

3) I gave into temptation and adopted the four boy ratties that were available at PetCo ^^a They are currently settling into my smaller "travel" cage. The lady at PetCo said she'd done her best to make sure they were well socialized, and when I asked for a little litter/bedding to take with me so their new cage would smell more like "home", she threw in a yellow chewing block with it ^__^ Thank you, store lady! (I also think she was glad to know that all four would be going to the same home together. Yay, less separation!)

I'm currently planning to name them directionally: either Up, Down, Left, and Right, or after the cardinal directions, though I'm leaning towards the latter. I'm also planning to train at least one of them to do completely adorable tricks :Db

Incidentally, the four of them are currently hiding under the empty tissue box I put in their cage. Not in, under. I can already tell these will be very special rats, s-sigh.

4) Several of you will, I'm sure, be glad to know that I talked my grandmother into getting me the first three seasons of Supernatural for combination birthday/Xmas gifts. I've decided to accept the first one now, and the next two will actually wait for Xmas; it should even out to about an episode a day that way. Other than that, the cage, the rats (actually purchased for me by cat-owner roommate), and a pair of comfy socks/$20 from my other grandparents, I haven't gotten any RL gifts yet; I'm saving them for Family Dinner Night on Wednesday. I'll probably do a bigger report on that then.

5) Finally! In celebration of my aging, and also in celebration of learning just how many people also think it is awesome, I'll be taking prompts for Mononoke Girls' Academy in the comments ^^v

serious poll: How detailed is your canon? Do they provide every single little detail for your characters and the mechanics of your characters' worlds (eg. the workings of the world's science, the religion, historical facts, etc.) or do they leave you with enough space to think up fun head canons? Basically pimp how awesome and well-written your canon is!

I bought Yoshinaga Fumi's Oooku tonight and I cant wait to read it! I also bought a manhwa simply because its beautiful cover drew me in. I love the regal manhwa style in works like these... I saw another one about a hunky mermaid falling in love with a girl but didnt buy it because I felt too silly XD;; If the one I bought isnt good though I may bring it back and buy that one.

MUST READ MORE REDIKOMI. I wish Kaikan Phrase was longer, I admit it. I know that series is a horrible Mary Sue with storytelling almost on par with the Twilight books, but good god I loved that series.

[So, according the the computer, the Piggin carcass was waste and it had made its view on that abundantly clear by dissolving it. Melting it into the floor. Whichever. Either way, it'd left her with nothing to do, but clean the already clean pot she'd used uselessly and daydream.

Well, nothing to do except...maybe...

Within five minutes of the really pretty terrible idea popping into her head, she was cooking up a storm in the kitchen, and within ten she was surveying her creation (ramen - the only thing she could make without it looking like a nuclear explosion) happily.

Okay, time to call her prey. She hesitated by the door, hand cupped to her mouth. What was she supposed to call him? "Mr. Chen" felt too distant, but if she called him one of the nicknames she had for him ("Fluffy", "Red Ranger", "An excellent reason to take to drink") there was no guarantee he'd appear. Nothing for it then but to call him by name.]

So uh one of my big hobbies is that when I get bored online, I pull up TETRIS. And I play. And until today, the best I had ever done was level 36 (which is about where the speed maxes out, by the way).

Like I said. ( Until today. )
